Happy New year 2011

Dear Friends!

A RIGHT time to think of all the friends, who have been great support and inspiration to what- ever is being done here around KARIYANDAL. The year is coming to an end. Water is life. You can see that everywhere. After almost 13 years we had such a good rain in this area. When there is heavy rain, it also brings in damages, but that is unavoidable, it teaches us every time that we need to be prepared to receive the rain. The waterways need to keep clean, not occupy the ponds, lakes and other reservoirs. If this is done the fury of nature will not be much. Let us understand and try to live with the nature.

The vocational training center is completed and we will be soon utilizing the space to provide employment opportunities to more than 50 women and people with disability. Thanks to Ruedi and Cecile and other Swiss friends.

Another old time friend of me and PCTC since 1981 Ms.Marie Jose wouters paid a visit for a week. With her support we were able to create Children’s Libraries in villages.

Gavin and Julia made a lightning trip to PCTC to explore the possibility for a long term relation with PCTC and its programs. They are hoping to come back next year and helping us to consolidate the program with the rural children’s -Thulir program..

Christian Tingry’s visit (3rd time) has been cancelled around Christmas time this year, as he had his heart ailment. We all wish speedy recovery and good health.

Thanks to Mr. Krisnaswami for being choosy to place volunteers at PCTC, who would enjoy the rural life and become part of whatever we do at PCTC and remain friends of PCTC. There is a big list … I am unable to name them all… but one or two samples Niall Williams from UK, who is working at English International School continues to assist all the new initiatives of PCTC. Callum Watson offers to help as and when needed. Gavin and Julia are working for lasting bondage..

Ms.Cathy Bowman is an admirer of PCTC from the day one and her regular support every year is used for all our new initiatives. She has been kind enough to plan a visit to PCTC this year end and will participate in the People’s Festival.

Mr. Iain and Hilde from UK have pledged their continued support for our programs.

When I started writing this brief note it is becoming endless… and we all promise you to live up to your expectations in the years to come. Happy new year 2011 to you all .
